Overview

MARINER-SIM (Maritime Advanced RF Training Simulator) Problem: SOF and naval operators face mission-critical communication failures during maritime ops due to atmospheric ducting and sea-state interference that current training doesn't address.

Solution: MARINER-SIM simulates real-time maritime RF propagation effects, teaching operators to recognize and adapt to ocean-specific communication challenges through immersive training. Status: TRL 3 - Feasibility complete, ready to prototype. Pre-field validation phase. Strategic Advantage: First to adapt validated AREPS algorithms for operator training; requires deep RF engineering and maritime environmental modeling expertise. Market: Pursuing SOCOM/Navy contracts, SBIRs, BAAs. Dual-use: offshore energy/shipping operations face identical RF challenges.

Team: Marryam Chaudhry, PI - XR2LEAD CEO, 20+ years AI-driven defense simulation/VR training. NATO-DIANA mentor, led SOCOM SBIR projects, 2023 STTR AEROD with Georgia Tech GTRI. Fred McWilliams - MIT Lincoln Labs, 20+ years maritime training simulators/RF propagation systems. Ron Dahlgren - Senior software engineer, M&S/AI expert, former 82nd Airborne with RF ops experience. Dr. Alexandra Steiner - 20+ years Instructional Systems Design, Navy training specialization. James Casey - GMU Professor, 18+ years serious games/AR military trainers. Dr. Sang Nam - 17+ years AR/VR defense, Nam ER Technology founder, Army ITES-SW2 contractor.

Competition: No direct maritime-specific RF training competitors; existing solutions focus on equipment operation, not environmental physics. Users: Naval communications operators, SOF coastal reconnaissance teams. Core Issue: Operators reactively troubleshoot communication failures during missions instead of understanding predictable maritime RF behavior patterns.
