Mythos AI
Overview
Naval operations are constrained by crew shortages and the demand for persistent maritime presence. While unmanned systems offer a solution, current platforms lack the autonomy maturity for safe, independent operation.
Mythos AI provides a full-stack autonomy system for unmanned surface vessels (USVs).
Our software has logged over 10,000 autonomous miles across U.S. ports, operating in some of the busiest commercial waterways on commercial jobs.
We are at TRL 9, with live deployments, commercial revenue, and field-proven integration with live sonar and navigation systems.
Built entirely in-house, our autonomy stack—from sensor drivers to decision logic—is purpose-built for the maritime domain. The software has been trained and validated on exclusive operational datasets from real-world autonomous missions in U.S. waterways. We deliver software that's both robust and scalable. We are hyper-focused entirely on the hardest problems.
We’re engaging directly with USV OEMs, pursuing PMS 420 alignment, and developing paths through SOFWERX and defense prime partnerships exploring small and medium USV solutions.
Our commercial-first strategy gave us maturity before entering defense, and our autonomy already supports dynamic navigation, object detection and avoidance, and hydrography.
Our team brings deep expertise from both the self-driving car industry and Amazon Robotics, combining automotive grade autonomy with industrial reliability.
Most of our competitors are busy building boats. Several of our competitors have now approached us to license our autonomy. While others focus on hardware, we focus on software--the hardest part.
Our primary users include Navy autonomy leads, fleet planners, and vessel commanders. They face overloaded watch teams and under-crewed ships. Mythos AI delivers the autonomy needed to expand operational reach without increasing risk.
